The BOTOX® Procedure

Using a very fine needle, Dr. Alexander injects BOTOX® Cosmetic into designated muscles in your face that are causing lines and wrinkles. You may experience brief, mild discomfort during the injection, but you can be assured that the treatment is very safe and effective. Taking only a few minutes, BOTOX® treatment requires no anesthetic and recovery is immediate, allowing you to return to work and resume your normal daily activities that same day. Strenuous activities can be resumed the next day.

Even though BOTOX® is not a surgical procedure, it is very important to choose a highly experienced and qualified physician when deciding to undergo BOTOX® treatments. Doctors who are less familiar with the technique could leave you looking "frozen" or less attractive. Results of BOTOX® Cosmetic

After a BOTOX® injection, patients may experience mild discomfort, which usually goes away within a few hours. The results of this treatment are visible almost right away, with wrinkles beginning to fade within 24 hours and continuing to improve over the next five days. For most patients, BOTOX® reduces wrinkles significantly.

BOTOX® injections will improve the appearance of the treated areas, but will not drastically change the patient's appearance, or make the patient look as though extensive work has been done. Muscle activity is often possible after treatment, so patients won't appear "frozen".

These results typically last up to three to four months, although some patients report results that last up to a full year. Dr. Alexander re-administers treatments to help patients maintain the refreshed appearance of their skin.
