DR. GEORGE ALEXANDER
A SURGERON YOU CAN TRUST AND BELIEVE IN
His grandfather came to the United Stated through Ellis Island in search of the American Dream.
Today, George John Alexander, MD appreciates that dream as one of the top plastic surgeons in the state with his wife and daughter by his side.
George Alexander, MD., F.A.C.S., a trusted board-certified plastic and cosmetic surgeon, taking care of surgical patients for close to 20 years, attributes much of his success to his family and the traditional values instilled in him by his grandfather.
“He taught me that hard work, self-sacrifice, and integrity are important principles to live by,” Alexander said. “He came here alone and all he had was hope. He had no money, he couldn’t speak English and he had a third grade education. He’s kind of an American success story and I am very proud of him.”
Alexander, who has lived and practiced in the Summerlin area for the past 11 years, says, “I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by a great staff; they are an extension of my family and have contributed to our success. Patients are always commenting about the personal attention they receive and how they feel like they are amongst family and friends”.
Dr. Alexander has embraced the community of Summerlin. “I feel fortunate to be able to grow with out community,” he said. “I grew up in a small town close to New York City and Summerlin has that feel to it, that small town, friendly and safe environment with the excitement and energy of big city attractions close by. This combination has allowed me to enjoy taking care of our local patients, as well as attracting patients from as far as Europe and Japan.”
Alexander graduated at the top of his class from Georgetown University’s School of Medicine, in Washington DC; he honorably served as a an officer in the United States Air Force where he was identified as the #1 doctor in his program, and is currently Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mountain View Hospital. He enjoys private practice, as well as working with some of the finest doctors in the community.
“In my opinion, success is a marathon, not a sprint,” he said. “One of my favorite quotations on success is from (former president) Ronald Reagan.”
“He said ‘focus on your hopes, not your fears; your confidence, not your doubts.'”
