What if I don’t need all the procedures outlined in a Mommy Makeover?
Each Mommy Makeover is highly individualized for each patient. You will discuss your body contouring desires during your initial consultation with Dr. Alexander. Together, you and Dr. Alexander will devise an optimal treatment plan that best suits your unique needs.
Can I have multiple surgeries at once?
If you are healthy and a good candidate for surgery, it is common to perform breast and abdominal procedures together. The most common combinations are liposuction or tummy tuck and breast lift and/or breast augmentation.
How long after my pregnancy should I wait before getting my Mommy Makeover?
Before choosing to undergo surgery, you should attempt natural weight loss and muscle toning. This timeframe varies from patient to patient. Women must also wait until they are finished breastfeeding to have any type of breast surgery. Prior to surgery, you should eat nutritious foods and exercise regularly to reduce excess fat, strengthen your muscles, be as healthy as possible and at a stable weight.
What is the typical recovery time following a Mommy Makeover?
Your recovery period will vary depending on which procedure(s) you undergo. On average, it takes up to six weeks to fully recover from breast augmentation surgery and tummy tuck surgery. During your recovery period, you should avoid heavy lifting (e.g., kids, laundry, groceries). Dr. Alexander will discuss with you in detail how best to manage your life during your recovery period with individualized recommendations.
Will my Mommy Makeover prevent me from having kids in the future?
None of the procedures that are a part of the Mommy Makeover will prevent you from having children. However, it is suggested that you wait until you’re finished having children before undergoing tummy tuck surgery.
